Professional headshots & natural business portraits by personal branding photographer Guildford
If you are looking for natural business portraits by a professional headshot photographer in the Guildford area, here are some highlights of a recent professional headshot session I did with Marlen. She wanted some new and professional business images as she had just recently changed jobs and needed some portraits for the company website. She also wanted these portraits to be natural and authentic, which is something that I always strive when creating professional business images for my clients.
One of the things that helps with that is to choose the right setting for what you need and thanks to the Surrey Hills Enterprises network I was able to use the grounds of the beautiful, quintessentially english and picturesque Barnett Hill Hotel in the Surrey Hills. Contact me for a chat to discuss your requirements, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you.
Super talented silversmith and local entrepreneur Victoria got in touch a few weeks back, in need of some fresh, high-quality images for her website and social: enter Stepping Stones Branding - for all your personal branding photography needs in the Surrey Hills and beyond!
As she really wanted to highlight every aspect of her business we discussed her requirements and decided on the Half Day Personal Branding Photo shoot to cover everything she needed. Needless to say it was super fun to hang out with her and watch up close how she goes through the process of designing and making her silver jewellery. We even managed to cover the interaction with her clients - a very important aspect in her work - as one of her returning customers happened to pop by her studio to choose a lovely piece of jewellery.
A half-day personal branding session is a great way of investing in your business. The high-quality imagery we will create will cover the main aspects of your brand, starting with yourself. We will capture natural & authentic portraits of you, giving your clients a little window into the person behind the brand and thus making it more relatable for them. People connect to people - not just products, so giving your brand a face is a great way to start growing your business.
Of course you will also want to allow your clients a glimpse into the creative process, whether that is creating a bespoke piece of jewellery, producing a fenomenal facial cream or distilling a state-of-the-art gin... That's where the 'action shots' come in and these will show you at work in your studio, workshop or the place where the magic happens.
Victoria's workshop is located in the heart of the Surrey Hills, home to the stunning nature that inspires her and where she creates unique pieces of bespoke jewellery on commission. She also holds an amazing collection of ready-made pieces to choose from, so why not check out her collection on the Silver Anvil website and follow her on social media like Instagram and Facebook.
A little while ago I connected with Pep from Nordic Wellness Drinks as she and her partner Malene were looking for a personal branding photographer Dorking that was happy to start a personal branding photography project with them. Needless to say I was very excited at the idea of being able to create some great branding images for these ambitious Surrey entrepreneurs!
Their story started quite a while ago but it wasn't until a few years back that their mutual love for the Nordic countries, the Nordic way of life & nature inspired them to start a business "Inspired by nature".
Soon after they had found a way to combine the life enhancing properties of the Nordic berries with the extraordinary health benefits of water kefir: Nordic Wellness Drinks was born. Bursting with live cultures for good gut health these refreshing probiotic drinks come in five unique flavours and have a wealth of other health benefits.
Of course the products were a big part of our personal branding photography session, but it was great fun to also photograph the ladies at work in the fermentery. A few images a them simply enjoying their dogs in nature was of course also part of this personal brand photography session in Surrey. After all, giving your brand a face makes it more relatable and easier for your customers to connect to.

Last Saturday saw me booked as Guildford Brand Photographer for a Mini Branding Photography session by Gemma from Puremess: handmade Natural Skin & Hair care products. It was a truly enjoyable couple of hours in which we managed to create some great business images and some very special personal images as well.
You see, Puremess wasn't created by chance.
Gemma is a three-time cancer survivor and on her journey to get to this point she has had a double mastectomy. I'm not even going to attempt to try to tell her story in my own words, because she has already done so beautifully herself. You can read all about Gemma and her story on her blog. What I can tell you is that from this incredibly challenging time in her life her brand, Puremess, was born.
Puremess consists of a range of skin and haircare products that are natural, toxin-free and handmade by Gemma herself who - by the way - not only has a science background but also sports a Masters Degree in Environmental Science! The products are created by using ingredients like oils, butters, waxes and botanicals (sourced from local trusted suppliers) and avoids any chemical nasties like SLS, SLES, petrochemicals, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, palm oil, synthetic or artificial fragrances. Not only that, all packaging used is refillable, reusable, recyclable or biodegradable... how's that for an eco-friendly business!
As she is a savvy business woman, she knew she could do with some new personal branding images for her website and social media, so a few weekends ago we got together and got to work :-). She also had another request, far more personal and one I felt extremely humbled and proud to honour.
After her double mastectomy, Gemma had decided not to opt for reconstructive surgery and to "go flat". As this is still an uncommon choice for women, Gemma did a photo shoot a few years back to encourage and empower women to make their own decisions based on what they feel comfortable with and not what the outside world might expect them to look like. As an avid advocate for feeling good & happy in your own skin, she decided it was time to update her images and so we did. *Special appearance by Merlin*
Thank you Gemma for giving me your trust and allowing me to capture you in all your beauty - inside & out. You are a truly remarkable woman and I have immense respect for you, the decision you took and the way you live and celebrate life. The time we spent together for your mini branding photography session, as well as your personal photoshoot was very enjoyable and I hope we'll do it again some time. Love, Caan.

Fellow Surrey Hills Enterprises member Wessex Gin Distillery was one of the lucky winners of the draw for a free mini branding session I organised last month as part of the launch of my Personal Branding Photographer Surrey Hills activities. So a few days ago we got together in Wormley, just south of Guildford and Godalming, where the Clark's family distillery is located for a mini branding session.
Wessex Gin has been on the market only a few years now but in this relatively short time has managed to establish itself in a very impressive manner. This year they've won the first place gold medal in the Gin Masters Competition, that's like the equivalent of winning an Oscar in the film industry!
When I spoke to Amy before the branding photography session she underlined the importance of family values at Wessex Distillery, not surprising when you know it's basically Dad Jonathan and his kids Amy and Christopher that run the show! With that in mind we had a great time during the branding session, where I wanted to capture as many aspects of the business as possible. From the production line to the finished product and everything in between, never forgetting to have some family fun whilst creating a truly remarkable award-winning gin!
Thank you Jonathan, Amy and Christopher for having me as your Personal Branding Photographer Surrey Hills for the day, I thoroughly enjoyed our morning together. And thank you for spoiling me with amazing goodies! I hope you will enjoy your images and hope we'll be able to do this again some time soon :-).

Scott is currently rebranding his IT business and needed some personal branding photography done in Surrey as he is based in Fetcham. As a personal brand photographer from Box Hill, Dorking and a fellow member of the Surrey Hills Enterprises Group I was very excited to work with Scott on this little personal branding project.
So on a fine day earlier this week we met at a very nice, new indoor location in Reigate where we had planned to start our mini banding session: Island House. It's a gorgeous venue which features a trendy, contemporary look & feel and where one can enjoy a coffee, cocktail or a full-blown meal.
Prior to our personal branding photography session we had discussed some key points that were important for Scott to convey through the images. I think we can say 'mission accomplished' in portraying Scott as a friendly, approachable, trustworthy, organised expert in his field: everything IT!
